Containern friends

Beitrag von gleaner »

Hi

I live in Sweden and I get nearly all of my food from "containern", is anyone else doing that? Also for clothes I buy second hand and I have no car, so it is kind of the same way of life. Would really like to get to know others into similar passions.

Möchte wirklich andere in ähnlichen Leidenschaften kennenlernen.

Hej gleaner,

Where do you live in Sweden?
I lived in Malmö for some months. I did the same there as you: "containern" or dumpster diving works really really well there and the second hand shops in Sweden are amazing, too. It seemed to me that the Swedes are way more open to those topics. In case you use Facebook, there is a group called "Saved the food Malmö", with updates about the best and newest containers and regular meet-ups to go dumpster-diving together. Maybe something similar also exists close to you.

I live in Malmo too!! The places are not so many as they were, several of them have closed. Do you go containern where you are living now?

Oh cool! Are you swedish?
It's sad to hear that. I left Malmo 1 1/2 years ago. There were still plenty of open containers back then.
Else, we often got unsold fruits and vegetables from the merchants at the Möllan market

I live in Bordeaux at the moment. Here I never went containern for food, but I like to go around town and see what the people just put on the streets for the garbage collection. You can find awesome things here

Ich wusste nicht, dass du in Schweden gelebt hast, Moon. In meiner Jufendzeit, mein Lieblingsland.

Leider herrscht in Schweden das "Skandinavische Modell". Also nix mehr fuer mich.

I'm sure there are some, I just didn't try it yet.
How often do you go if you get almost all your food this way?
